In today’s rapidly evolving information landscape, Records and Information Management can no longer thrive as an after‑the‑fact, compliance‑driven function. We have to be empowered to transform a program from being reactive responders to proactive, embedded strategic partners across the enterprise. We’ll explore how RIM can integrate seamlessly into core business processes by building strong partnerships with functional areas such as Internal Audit, IT & Security, Legal, Privacy, and more. We’ll talk about practical, actionable approaches for elevating the visibility and influence of RIM throughout the information lifecycle—from system implementations and vendor management to audits, controls, data governance, and emerging technologies. And by the end, you’ll learn how proactive RIM involvement reduces organizational risk, improves data quality, prevents costly rework, and drives long-term compliance. Whether your organization is just beginning this transition or refining an established program, this presentation offers a forward-thinking, practical blueprint to expand the value of RIM and strengthen your organization’s overall governance posture.
